Dirt Dogs sweep doubleheader from Menlo Park
The Alameda Dirt Dogs, a 19-and-older team consisting of collegiate players from Alameda and surrounding cities, swept a doubleheader from the Menlo Park Legends at College of Alameda on June 14.

In the first game, the Dirt Dogs took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning with two runs, then held on for a 5-4 win as Menlo Park rallied with two runs in the ninth. Zach Aguirre earned the win by pitching seven innings of five-hit ball, allowing only one earned run and striking out nine. The Dirt Dogs' Patrick Collins-Bride went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and teammate Devin Grigg was 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI. Devin Hobbs, Mike Senter and Jeffrey Croft also had two hits for the Dirt Dogs.

Alameda had an easier time in the second game, as all the runs were scored in the first six innings. The Dirt Dogs scored four in the top of the sixth to take a 7-3 lead in an eventual 7-4 victory. Croft went 2-for-4 with a run and four RBI in the victory, and teammate Tony Branscum was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
