EASY DOES IT
In the finale of their season's longest homestand, the Warriors finally figured out how to avoid being beat at the buzzer: Don't let the game come down to a last-second shot.

Golden State blitzed the Baron Davis-less Clippers 107-92 at Oracle Arena on Sunday, getting a much-needed laugher after their last three losses came by a combined four points.

Declaring themselves World Beaters, well, that will have to wait.

"We played better in the games we lost than we played tonight," coach Don Nelson said, "but it's good to get a win at this time, anytime."

With Davis staying in Los Angeles to rehabilitate ailments that have cost him almost a month, 17,746 fans came to Oracle Arena for this matchup of Western Conference Wobblers.

Sunday's atmosphere hardly rivaled that of their preceding game against the Cavs, which doubled as the return of Monta Ellis to the Warriors, but it still managed a couple of firsts.

Ellis' first three-pointer of the season was followed by his first give-and-go with Anthony Randolph, a play that ended with the rookie flying through the air for a one-handed dunk.

Later, chants of "We want Randolph" could be heard, replaced with loud applause when Nelson, with the win already secured, began emptying his bench - Randolph included.

Even little-used guard Marcus Williams and forward Rob Kurz made an appearance as the Warriors led by as many as 28 points in winning their sixth straight over the Clippers in Oakland.

Of course, the dilapidated state of the Clippers had as much to do with that as the Warriors' hot shooting. The Clips dressed only eight players and were without Davis and their trio of pricey big men: Chris Kaman, Zach Randolph and Marcus Camby.

So it was Corey Maggette, the ex-Clipper turned Warriors' sixth man, who hurt his former team with 20 points and six rebounds.

Ellis followed his impressive season debut with a quiet 10 points in 22 minutes. Anthony Morrow - starting again in place of the injured Jamal Crawford - added 17 points, four assists and three rebounds.

Rookie Eric Gordon, coming off a personal-high 41-point game, led the Clippers with 21 points. Rookie DeAndre Jordan had 20 rebounds.

For the Warriors, the win capped a seven-game stand players had hoped would bring some consistency and confidence after spending most of the season's first half on the road.

Whether that happened is a matter of perspective: Although the Warriors went 4-3, they had chances at a perfect record thwarted by losses to the Kings in triple overtime and to the Thunder and Cavaliers on buzzer-beaters.

"We won more than we lost, so that's the good thing," Stephen Jackson said. "We played everybody well and we had two games that got away from us. We've just got to build on that and understand that if we bring that effort and attention every night, we have a chance to win every game."

Next: a three-game trip against West playoff contenders. The Warriors travel to Dallas, New Orleans and Houston this week.
