Golden State Warriors Notes, Quotes 2009-11-05

Golden State Warriors Notes, Quotes 2009-11-05--The Warriors (1-2) became the 29th NBA team to record a victory Wednesday night, outlasting Memphis 113-105 in Oakland. Only New Jersey has yet to win a game this season.

--The winner of the first Warriors-Grizzlies game has gone on to sweep the season series each of the past two seasons. The Warriors went 0-3 against Memphis last year.

--Monta Ellis (24), Anthony Morrow (24), Stephen Jackson (20) and Corey Maggette (20) all scored 20 or more points in the win. The last time the Warriors had four players with 20-plus points in the same game was when they surprised the Celtics 119-117 on Feb. 20, 2008.

--The Warriors used their third different starting lineup in three games, replacing power forward Anthony Randolph with small forward Kelenna Azubuike, sliding Stephen Jackson into Randolph's spot. Ronny Turiaf had started at power forward in the opener.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "That's exactly what we needed to have." -- Warriors guard Monta Ellis, insisting the Warriors "needed" a win Wednesday after two season-opening losses.
