Golden State Warriors Notes, Quotes 2009-07-25
--F Anthony Randolph, despite leading the league in scoring at 26.8 points per game for a Warriors team that went 4-1, did not win MVP honors at the Las Vegas Summer League. That distinction went to Clippers rookie Blake Griffin, the No. 1 pick of the 2009 draft. Randolph celebrated his 20th birthday in Las Vegas on July 15.

--G Marcus Williams, who was waived by the Warriors during the 2008-09 season, tied for the summer-league lead in assists at 8.2 per game while playing for Memphis.

--The Warriors' 4-1 record in the summer league was tied for third-best behind the perfect 5-0 marks of the Grizzlies and Rockets.

--G C.J. Watson, a part-time starter last season, has reportedly turned down a one-year, free-agent offer from the 76ers in hopes of landing a three-year deal. Orlando reportedly was considering Watson before exhausting most of their available funds on ex-Warrior Matt Barnes.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I'm playing for the whole deal." -- Cartier Martin, telling the San Francisco Chronicle the free agent's role in the Las Vegas Summer League was to earn himself a guaranteed NBA contract for the 2009-10 season.
