DRAFT PICKS:
Anthony Randolph, F, 6-10, LSU -- The slender forward will have to be more perimeter-oriented in the NBA than he was in college. Some see him as another Rashard Lewis; others say Jonathan Bender. Richard Hendrix, F, 6-9, Alabama -- The Southeastern Conference's leading rebounder became the club's toughest interior force the minute he was drafted.
PLAYER NOTES:
--C Andris Biedrins is an up-and-comer in NBA circles, but the 6-foot-11 big man already is well-established in Europe. He opened the EuroBasket 2009 qualifying tournament with a 30-point, 22-rebound effort in Latvia's narrow victory over Macedonia.
--F Ronny Turiaf, signed away as a free agent from the Lakers in the offseason, is a key performer for the French national team. He had 11 points and four rebounds in his country's win over Belgium to tip off the EuroBasket 2009 qualifying event.
--Amid talk he's considering staying in Europe rather than returning to the Warriors this season, young C Kosta Perovic averaged 8.7 points and 4.0 rebounds as Serbia started out 3-1 in EuroBasket 2009 qualifying.
