DRAFT PICKS:
Anthony Randolph, F, 6-10, LSU -- The slender forward will have to be more perimeter-oriented in the NBA than he was in college. Some see him as another Rashard Lewis; others say Jonathan Bender. Richard Hendrix, F, 6-9, Alabama -- The Southeastern Conference's leading rebounder became the club's toughest interior force the minute he was drafted.
PLAYER NOTES:
--Coach Don Nelson wasted little time announcing the 2008-09 NBA Developmental League call-up G C.J. Watson has beaten out offseason trade acquisition Marcus Williams for the starting point-guard role in Monta Ellis' absence. Watson served as Ellis' backup most of last season.
--G Dan Dickau, a former Gonzaga standout, was added to the Warriors' point guard mix, signing on the fifth day of camp. The 30-year-old has 300 NBA games under his belt and enjoyed his best results four seasons ago, when he averaged 12.5 points and 4.9 assists a game for Dallas and New Orleans.
--Rookie G Anthony Morrow, a summer-league sensation, made an immediate impression in training camp, earning Stephen Jackson's vote as one of the club's best players.
"I think he's probably the best shooter in camp, including me," Jackson gushed of the former Georgia Tech star.
