ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard DeMarcus Nelson, Shooting guard Stephen Jackson, Small forward Corey Maggette, Power forward Al Harrington, Center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, Guard/Forward Kelenna Azubuike, Forward Brandan Wright, Center Ronny Turiaf.
PLAYER NOTES: --G Stephen Jackson attempted as many 3-pointers (eight) as 2-pointers (eight) in Saturday's win at New Jersey. Jackson, who has fired up at least eight 3s in every game this season, has taken more 3s (23) than 2s (20) in the three games.
--C Andris Biedrins has recorded a double-double in all three games while also shooting better than 50 percent each time. The difference Saturday? He made seven of eight from the free-throw line after having gone 5-for-13 in the first two games.
--F Corey Maggette is establishing a new mind-set for the Warriors with his ability to get to the line. He went 13-for-15 against the Nets, giving him three consecutive games with at least nine foul shots. The Warriors, who attempted an average of only 24.9 free throws per game last season and were outscored by more than four points a night at the line, have gone to the line 18 more times (103-85) than their opponents this season.
--G Marcus Williams has yet to leave the bench as a Warrior, but Saturday's inactivity hurt more than the previous two. A valuable backup point guard for the Nets last season, Williams left New Jersey because he thought Golden State offered a better opportunity. Instead, he finds himself playing behind DeMarcus Nelson and C.J. Watson -- and that's with Monta Ellis out of action. The Warriors announced Friday they were not picking up the fourth-year option on Williams' contract next season.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Monta Ellis (ankle) is likely to miss the first two months of the season after surgery to repair the damage suffered in a mo-ped accident. The Warriors have suspended Ellis for the first 26 games (through Dec. 17) of the regular season for having violated the terms of his contract.
