Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2008-11-12

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2008-11-12
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard C.J. Watson, shooting guard Kelenna Azubuike, small forward Stephen Jackson, power forward Brandan Wright, center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard Marco Belinelli, guard/forward Anthony Morrow, forward Anthony Randolph, center Ronny Turiaf.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Andris Biedrins had 13 points and 15 rebounds in the overtime win over the Timberwolves. He has recorded a double-double in all eight games this season and 15 in a row dating back to last April. No Warrior since Nate Thurmond (18 consecutive double-doubles in 1972) has enjoyed such a run.

--F Stephen Jackson contributed 30 points to the win -- his first 30-point night of the season. He had four last year. Jackson also had five assists to lead the Warriors. He has topped the club in assists in all but one game.

--G-F Kelenna Azubuike played 49 of the 53 minutes. He'd never previously been called upon for more than 48 minutes in his brief NBA career.

--G-F Anthony Morrow, who figures to lose all or most of his playing time when Corey Maggette returns from his hamstring injury, is getting more productive by the game. He poured in a pair of three-pointers en route to a season-best eight points.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) is likely to miss the first two months of the season after surgery required to repair the damage suffered in a moped accident. The Warriors have suspended Ellis for the first 26 games (through Dec. 17) of the regular season for having violated terms of his contract.

--F Corey Maggette (hamstring) sat out a fourth consecutive game because of a sore left hamstring. The team clearly is treating the injury with caution, although it's probable he will return Thursday to face the Pistons.

--F Al Harrington (back), seeing his effectiveness (and minutes) shrink after a solid start to the season, claims his back is bothering him and he might sit out until the Warriors either trade him (as he desires) or announce they cannot find a trade partner (which is more likely). He has missed three games in a row, with no indication he's going to return anytime this month.
