Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2008-12-01

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2008-12-01
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jamal Crawford, Shooting guard Marco Belinelli, Small forward Kelenna Azubuike, Power forward Corey Maggette, Center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, Guard Andrew Morrow, Forward Brandan Wright, Forward Anthony Randolph, Forward Ronny Turiaf.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Jamal Crawford returned to Madison Square Garden and scored 21 points Saturday in the Warriors' loss to the Knicks. It was his high point total since joining Golden State earlier in the week. He attempted more shots (20) and dished off fewer assists (five) than in any of his previous games as a Warrior.

--F Corey Maggette matched his high as a Warrior with 32 points, and also found time for a season-best 12 rebounds. He'd totaled just 10 boards in the first four games of the Eastern trip.

--G Marco Belinelli made a rare start in place of Stephen Jackson, who sat out with a sprained wrist. The Italian played just eight minutes, taking two shots (both 3-pointers) and making one. He's now a respectable 5-for-12 (41.7 percent) from beyond the arc this season.

--G C.J. Watson recorded a season high in points for the second consecutive night, pouring in 23 off the bench. He also handed off five assists, just the fourth time this season the point guard has reached that figure. He had totaled just eight assists in the first four games of the trip.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) is progressing toward a December return after having originally been projected to miss the first two months of the season following surgery to repair the damage suffered in a moped accident. The Warriors have suspended Ellis for the first 26 games (through Dec. 17) of the regular season for having violated terms of his contract.

--F Stephen Jackson sat out Saturday's road-trip finale to rest an aching wrist that has bothered him for several games. He is likely to return to action Monday when the Warriors host Miami.
