Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2008-12-10

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2008-12-10
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jamal Crawford, shooting guard Anthony Morrow, small forward Kelenna Azubuike, power forward Brandan Wright, center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, guard Marco Belinelli, forward Ronny Turiaf.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Andris Biedrins recorded a season-best five assists to complement 17 points and 21 rebounds in Monday's win at Oklahoma City. The big man had totaled four assists in his previous three games and had recorded more than two assists in just six of the Warriors' first 20 games. Biedrins had at least 15 points and rebounds in the same game for the sixth time this season.

--G Anthony Morrow contributed 15 points to the win, his highest output since pouring in 25 the last time the Warriors won -- Nov. 18 against Portland. The undrafted rookie had totaled 40 points during the club's nine-game losing streak, missing 33 of 47 shots.

--F Brandan Wright scored 13 or more points for the third time in the last four games, finishing with 15. He has averaged 12.3 over that stretch. He made five of his six shots, the sixth consecutive game and ninth in the last 10 in which he has hit at least half his shots.

--G Marco Belinelli dropped in a season-high 13 points off the bench in 18 minutes. His previous high had been seven at Sacramento on Nov. 9. He had totaled just 15 points in his last 12 games.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) is progressing toward a return late this month after having originally been projected to miss at least the first two months of the season following surgery to repair the damage suffered in a moped accident. The Warriors have suspended Ellis for the first 26 games (through Dec. 17) of the regular season for violating terms of his contract.

--F Stephen Jackson (sprained left hand) missed his second game of the season Monday. Jackson injured the hand early in the season but has fought through the pain on most nights. After sitting out the second half of Saturday's loss at San Antonio and practice Sunday, then having an MRI (it was negative), it was decided to give him some time off. He could miss home games Wednesday against Milwaukee and Friday against Houston.

--F Corey Maggette (hamstring) was given the night off Monday in hopes getting three days of rest could have him ready for the Bucks-Rockets homestand. Like Jackson, Maggette has played through the pain of the hamstring strain for most of the season. He earlier missed four consecutive games (Nov. 5-11) because of the injury.

--F Anthony Randolph (sprained left hand) wasn't on the active roster Monday, but there's a good chance he'll return Wednesday.
