Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-01-16

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-01-16
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard C.J. Watson, Shooting guard Jamal Crawford, Small forward Corey Maggette, Power forward Anthony Randolph, Center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard Anthony Morrow, Guard Kelenna Azubuike, Forward Anthony Randolph, Center Ronny Turiaf.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Andris Biedrins recorded a 12-point, 14-rebound double-double in the Warriors' triple-overtime loss to the Kings on Wednesday. Biedrins also had five blocked shots before fouling out in the fourth quarter. During Biedrins' 33 minutes on the court, the Warriors outscored the Kings by 23 points. With the big man out of action for 30 minutes, Sacramento got the better of the home team by 25.

--F Corey Maggette, who entered the game shooting 84.6 percent from the free-throw line, went 4-for-12. He'd made 13 of 14 in his previous two games, and hadn't missed more than three in a game this season.

--G Jamal Crawford played 60 of the game's 63 minutes and led the Warriors with 35 points. It was the third time since joining Golden State that he was called upon to play 48 or more minutes. He has tallied 30 or more points in back-to-back games. His 67-point total in the last two outings represents his best consecutive-games sum since dropping in 68 against the Bobcats (50) and Magic (18) on Dec. 20 and 22. Crawford has recorded 30 or more points in a game 36 times in his career.

--G C.J. Watson started in place of injured Marco Belinelli and produced a career-best 26 points before fouling out in the second overtime. It was the first time this season he's committed more than four fouls in a game. He played a career-high 49 minutes and recorded his most assists (six) since registering eight against the Clippers on Nov. 15.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) practiced with the team for the first time this season Tuesday and reported no pain or swelling afterward in his surgically repaired left ankle. If all goes well at Thursday's workout, he might make his 2008-09 season debut Friday at home against the Hawks. Ellis underwent surgery on his ankle in August.

--F Stephen Jackson (hamstring) might be ready to play against Atlanta on Friday. He missed his fourth consecutive game Wednesday with a hamstring strain, but told reporters beforehand he'd like to face the Hawks.

--F Brandan Wright (shoulder) is out indefinitely with a partially dislocated left shoulder, suffered Jan. 7 against the Lakers.

--G Marco Belinelli (ankle) is expected to miss the rest of the homestand, which runs through Jan. 25, after spraining his right ankle in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Pacers.

--G Marcus Williams (flu) suited up Wednesday, but saw no action, after missing two consecutive games with the flu.
