Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-01-17

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-01-17
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jamal Crawford, shooting guard Stephen Jackson, small forward Kelenna Azubuike, power forward Anthony Randolph, center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard Marcus Williams, guard Anthony Morrow, forward Corey Maggette, center Ronny Turiaf.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Corey Maggette had a season-best 16 rebounds off the bench in Friday's win over the Hawks. It was his fifth double-figure rebounding effort of the season. His previous high this season had been 12 against the Knicks on Nov. 29.

--G Jamal Crawford has scored 96 points in the Warriors' last three games. He had 32 in Sunday's win over the Pacers, 35 in Wednesday's triple-overtime loss to the Kings and 29 in Friday's win over the Hawks.

--G Stephen Jackson returned from a four-game absence to play 43 minutes. Jackson has missed 10 games this season -- two four-game sequences and a pair of one-gamers. He has played at least 41 minutes in his first game back after each absence, averaging 44.8 minutes in those games.

--G Marcus Williams played for the first time since Dec. 22 when Don Nelson summoned him from the bench to play the final 31 seconds of the first half. Williams drained a 3-pointer with two seconds left in the half.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) practiced with the team Tuesday and Thursday and is close to making his 2008-09 season debut. That could come Monday at home against the Wizards. Ellis underwent major surgery on his left ankle in August.

--F Stephen Jackson (hamstring) played 43 minutes Friday in his first game after having sat out four in a row with a strained hamstring.

--F Brandan Wright (shoulder) is out indefinitely with a partially dislocated left shoulder suffered Jan. 7 against the Lakers.

--G Marco Belinelli (ankle) is expected to miss the rest of the homestand, which runs through Jan. 25, after spraining his right ankle in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Pacers.

--F Corey Maggette (hand) played with tape on his right hand after bruising some knuckles in Wednesday's game against the Kings.

--G C.J. Watson (toe) sat out Friday's game while awaiting the results of an MRI taken on his left big toe. Watson had been playing recently with an inflamed big toe.
