Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-01-27

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-01-27
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Monta Ellis, shooting guard Anthony Morrow, small forward Kelenna Azubuike, power forward Stephen Jackson, center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, guard Marcus Williams, forward Corey Maggette, forward Anthony Randolph, forward Jermareo Davidson, forward Rob Kurz, center Ronny Turiaf.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Monta Ellis played only 22 minutes in Sunday's home win over the Clippers, which was his second game in three days following nearly a five-month layoff while recovering from ankle surgery. The ankle had nothing to do with the less than normal minute total, however. The Warriors were able to play all 12 guys in the blowout victory. Ellis had played 34 minutes in his season debut Friday.

--G Anthony Morrow didn't have one of his better 3-point-shooting games, missing five of eight. But he did make three or more for the sixth time this season, including the second time in the last three games.

--F Corey Maggette led the Warriors with 20 points in 23 minutes off the bench, his third consecutive 20-plus effort. He has 9,993 points in his career.

--F Jermareo Davidson, signed for the rest of the season before the game, celebrated by making his first field goal as a Warrior. In fact, he made a pair, scoring four points in the final 4:11 of the game. Davidson had seen action in only two games during his two 10-day stints that began Jan. 5.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) has shown no ill effects of major surgery on his left ankle in August, playing a total of 56 minutes in his first two games of the 2008-09 season.

--F Brandan Wright (shoulder) is expected to return in late February or early March after he fully recovers from a partially dislocated left shoulder suffered Jan. 7 against the Lakers.

--G Marco Belinelli (ankle) likely will sit out the Warriors' road trip to Dallas, New Orleans and Houston this week as he continues to mend the right ankle he bruised Jan. 11 against the Pacers.

--G Jamal Crawford (hamstring) missed his second consecutive game Sunday with a bruised right hamstring suffered in Wednesday's loss to Oklahoma City. The early indication is he will try to play Wednesday at Dallas.
