Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-02-04

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-02-04
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Monta Ellis, Shooting guard Jamal Crawford, Small forward Kelenna Azubuike, Power forward Stephen Jackson, Center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, Forward Corey Maggette, Center Ronny Turiaf.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Stephen Jackson became just the 10th player in the NBA this season to have at least 30 points and 10 assists in the same game in Monday's overtime loss to the Spurs. Jackson, who had 16 third-quarter points, finished with 33 points and 11 assists. It was the first 30-10 game of his career. He played all 53 minutes, establishing a career high.

--C Ronny Turiaf is starting to get more playing time as he solidifies his standing as the club's best defensive player. He had four blocked shots and seven rebounds in 23 minutes against the Spurs. He has blocked at least three shots and grabbed at least seven rebounds in each of his past three games.

--F Corey Maggette scored 15 points, the ninth consecutive game in which he's tallied 15 or more. Maggette has led Warriors reserves in scoring in each of the past nine games.

--G Anthony Morrow's chances of making the rookie team in the NBA's Rookie Challenge are growing slimmer by the day. Coming off a three-game road trip in which he totaled just 14 points, he never left the bench Monday.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) left Monday's game with 3:51 remaining in overtime after spraining the same left ankle he had surgically repaired in August. Ellis was in serious pain when he went to the bench, but was later seen putting weight on the ankle and walking on it a bit. However, he never returned to the game. His status for Wednesday's home contest against the Suns is very much up in the air.

--F Brandan Wright (shoulder) is definitely out through the All-Star break and possibly into March as he recovers from a partially dislocated left shoulder suffered Jan. 7 against the Lakers.

--G Marco Belinelli (ankle) could return to practice in the next two weeks, during which the Warriors play only one road game. He has been out since bruising his right ankle Jan. 11 against the Pacers.
