Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-02

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-02ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Stephen Curry, Shooting guard Monta Ellis, Small forward Stephen Jackson, Power forward Anthony Randolph, Center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, Guard Anthony Morrow, Forward Kelenna Azubuike, Forward Corey Maggette, Forward Ronny Turiaf, Center Mikki Moore.

--G Monta Ellis led the Warriors in scoring for the second consecutive game in Friday's loss at Phoenix with 19 points. He should be the team's top scorer -- he's taken 10 more shots (39) than any teammate.

--F Kelenna Azubuike is making a case that he should be the team's starting small forward, sliding the versatile Stephen Jackson to power forward. The NBA Developmental League graduate has made 13 of his 21 shots off the bench in the Warriors' first two games, averaging 15 points. The league's fourth-best three-point shooter a year ago, he's off to a 3-for-5 start from beyond the arc this season.

--F Stephen Jackson hasn't been filling up the boxscores as he did regularly last season. He has averaged a respectable 15 points in the two losses, but has totaled only four rebounds, six assists and one steal.

--G Anthony Morrow has some catching up to do if he plans to successfully defend his three-point shooting title. He's 1-for-6 through two games. One day after coach Don Nelson said he needed to get his ace marksman more shots, Morrow went just 1-for-5 in 25 minutes against the Suns.

--F Brandan Wright (torn labrum) underwent surgery Oct. 9. His recovery time is estimated to be six months, so there's a good chance he won't play at all in 2009-10.

--F Devean George (sore left knee) was not on the 12-man active roster for the second consecutive game, once again surrendering his spot to Acie Law. The two might flip-flop spots when the Warriors return home to face the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
