Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-18

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-18ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Stephen Curry, Shooting guard Monta Ellis, Small forward Anthony Morrow, Power forward Vladimir Radmanovic, Center Mikki Moore. Bench -- Forward Corey Maggette, Center Anthony Randolph.

--G Stephen Curry coexisted well with Monta Ellis in the Warriors' starting backcourt, playing a season-high 41 minutes and matching his NBA best with 14 points. He has shot 12-for-19 in his last two games after being limited to just three minutes in Friday's loss at New York.

--G Raja Bell, acquired Monday from Charlotte in the Stephen Jackson trade, had told the Bobcats he would play through wrist pain this season in an effort to help his club try to make the Eastern playoffs. But upon joining the Warriors, he was urged by Golden State management to reconsider the timing of the pending surgery and has done so. He now will undergo the surgery as early as later this week and could miss the rest of the season.

--F Kelenna Azubuike got the bad -- yet expected -- news on his injured left knee. He has a torn patella tendon in the knee. Surgery has been scheduled for later this week. He is out for the season.

--G C.J. Watson returned to the San Francisco Bay Area after playing 34 minutes in Saturday's loss at Milwaukee. He tested positive for swine flu and is hopeful of returning to the team when it plays Portland at home on Friday night.

--F Brandan Wright (torn labrum) underwent surgery Oct. 9. His recovery time is estimated to be six months, so there's a good chance he won't play at all in 2009-10.

--C Andris Biedrins (strained groin and abdominal muscles) was told to take two weeks off after experiencing what he thought was back pain in the Nov. 7 loss at Sacramento. He will be re-evaluated after the two-week layoff and could miss additional time. He did not accompany the Warriors on their current five-game road trip.

--C Ronny Turiaf (sprained left knee) missed an eighth consecutive game after suffering the injury Oct. 30. An MRI revealed no damage, but progress has been slow. Warriors coach Don Nelson told reporters Tuesday that he expects Biedrins to return before Turiaf, which means the backup center could miss most of the rest of the month.

--F Kelenna Azubuike (torn patella tendon) will undergo surgery later this week and likely will miss the rest of the season. He suffered the injury to his left knee in the third minute of Saturday's loss at Milwaukee.

--G Raja Bell (torn wrist ligament) has decided to have surgery to repair the partial tear. It's possible he could return in as little as two months, but more likely, he will miss most -- if not all -- of the rest of the season.

--G C.J. Watson (swine flu) returned to the Bay Area after Saturday's loss at Milwaukee and tested positive for swine flu. He missed Tuesday's game at Cleveland and also will be unavailable for Wednesday's trip finale at Boston. He hopes to be back in action Friday, when the Warriors are home against Portland.

--F Devean George (sore left knee) has yet to see action in the regular season. His injury is not considered serious.

--G Speedy Claxton (knee) is unlikely to play this season.
