Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-19

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-19ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Stephen Curry, Shooting guard Monta Ellis, Small forward Corey Maggette, Power forward Vladimir Radmanovic, Center Mikki Moore. Bench -- Guard Raja Bell, Forward Anthony Morrow, Center Anthony Randolph.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Stephen Curry started Wednesday's game in Boston with a taped right wrist, the result of a fall in Tuesday's loss in Cleveland. After saying it was affecting his shooting, he ditched the wrap and wound up 4-for-10, scoring 13 points.

--G Raja Bell made his Warriors debut a memorable one. For the second consecutive night, it was assumed he suited up only because NBA rules require eight players in uniform. But unlike Tuesday, when he never left the bench, Bell was called upon to play 23 minutes with a painful left wrist. He contributed 11 points and three assists. After the game, while his teammates were flying back to Oakland, Bell awaited a morning flight to Charlotte, where he will undergo surgery on the wrist later this week.

--F Kelenna Azubuike had surgery performed on the torn patella tendon in his left knee Wednesday in Phoenix. Even though the surgery was labeled a success, he won't be able to play again this season.

--F Corey Maggette, the most consistent Warrior this season, was promoted to the starting lineup and was just as impressive as he'd been as a backup. He made eight of his 13 shots and led the team both in scoring (23) and rebounding (eight).

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Brandan Wright (torn labrum) underwent surgery Oct. 9. His recovery time is estimated to be six months, so there's a good chance he won't play at all in 2009-10.

--C Andris Biedrins (strained groin and abdominal muscles) was told to take two weeks off after experiencing what he thought was back pain in the Nov. 7 loss at Sacramento. He will be re-evaluated later this week and could miss additional time. He did not accompany the Warriors on their five-game road trip.

--C Ronny Turiaf (sprained left knee) missed a ninth consecutive game after suffering the injury Oct. 30. An MRI revealed no damage, but progress has been slow. Warriors coach Don Nelson told reporters Tuesday that he expects Biedrins to return before Turiaf, which means the backup center could miss most of the rest of the month.

--F Kelenna Azubuike (torn patella tendon) had surgery in Phoenix on Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season. He suffered the injury to his left knee in the third minute of Saturday's loss at Milwaukee.

--G Raja Bell (torn wrist ligament) made his first -- and possibly his last -- appearance as a Warrior on Wednesday. He was scheduled to fly to Charlotte on Thursday and have surgery on his left wrist later this week. It's possible he could return in as little as a month, but more likely, he will miss most -- if not all -- of the rest of the season.

--G C.J. Watson (swine flu) returned to the San Francisco Bay Area after Saturday's loss at Milwaukee and tested positive for swine flu. He missed Tuesday's game at Cleveland and Wednesday's trip finale at Boston. He hopes to be back in action Friday, when the Warriors host Portland.

--F Devean George (sore left knee) has yet to see action in the regular season. His injury is not considered serious.

--G Speedy Claxton (knee) is unlikely to play this season.
