Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-27

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-11-27ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Stephen Curry, Shooting guard Monta Ellis, Small forward Anthony Morrow, Power forward Vladimir Radmanovic, Center Mikki Moore. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, Forward Corey Maggette, Forward Anthony Randolph, Center Chris Hunter.

--G Monta Ellis played the first 42 minutes, 10 seconds of Wednesday's loss at San Antonio, running his streak of consecutive playing time to 169 minutes. He had played 13 consecutive full quarters before being replaced by Stephen Curry with 5:50 to go in the game against the Spurs. He sat out only 2:45, then retired for good with 52 seconds left. He finished with a career-best-tying 42 points, becoming the first Warrior since Antawn Jamison in 2002 to have three consecutive games of 30 or more points.

--F Corey Maggette returned after missing Tuesday's win at Dallas because of a hamstring injury. He played 27 minutes and was able to score in double figures for the ninth consecutive time. He scored 14 points.

--G Stephen Curry took a season-high 16 shots and made only five in one of his weakest efforts of the season. His season-worst six turnovers more than offset five assists.

--C Chris Hunter played for the second time in three games since his call-up from the NBA Development League, but he might have seen his last action as a Warrior. The club had been given a special exemption to sign Hunter as a 16th player on the roster because of its inordinate number of injured players. But with C.J. Watson and Corey Maggette having returned Wednesday, the Warriors would have had the required eight players in uniform even without Hunter. So the league likely is going to force the Warriors either to cut Hunter loose before Saturday's game against the Lakers or waive one of their other 15 players, all of whom have guaranteed contracts.

--F Corey Maggette (strained hamstring) returned to action Wednesday, playing 27 minutes, after taking Tuesday's game off.

--F Brandan Wright (torn labrum) underwent surgery Oct. 9. His recovery time is estimated to be six months, so there's a good chance he won't play at all in 2009-10.

--C Andris Biedrins (strained groin and abdominal muscles) hasn't played since Nov. 7. He had an MRI on Monday and was told to sit out another week. He will be re-evaluated next Monday.

--C Ronny Turiaf (sprained left knee) has progressed slowly after suffering the injury Oct. 30. An MRI revealed no damage. Warriors coach Don Nelson told reporters last week that he expects C Andris Biedrins to return before Turiaf, which means the backup center probably won't return until next month.

--F Kelenna Azubuike (torn patella tendon) had surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

--G Raja Bell (torn wrist ligament) will have surgery in Charlotte this week. It's possible he could return in as little as a month, but more likely that he will miss most -- if not all -- of the rest of the season.

--G C.J. Watson (swine flu) flew to San Antonio on Wednesday and played for the first time in five games, getting in 16 minutes.

--F Devean George (sore left knee) has yet to see action in the regular season. His injury is not considered serious.

--G Speedy Claxton (knee) is unlikely to play this season.
