Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-02-23

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-02-23
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jamal Crawford, Shooting guard Monta Ellis, Small forward Kelenna Azubuike, Power forward Stephen Jackson, Center Ronny Turiaf. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, Guard Marco Belinelli, Forward Corey Maggette, Forward Anthony Randolph.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Monta Ellis hit seven of his 13 shots in Saturday's home win over Oklahoma City. It was just the second time in 13 games that Ellis connected on better than half his shots in a game.

--G Jamal Crawford continued his hot shooting of late, pouring in 24 points on 7-for-14 shooting. He has made at least half his shots in three of his last four games.

--F Stephen Jackson scored 20 or more points for the eighth consecutive game, leading the Warriors with 26. He, Corey Maggette (25) and Crawford (24) all topped 20, making this the fourth game in a row that at least three Warriors were in the 20s.

--F Corey Maggette's 25 points off the bench gave him 20 or more for the fifth time in the past six games. He led the Warriors in rebounding with eight. No other Warrior had more than four.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Andris Biedrins (sprained ankle) is pointing to Monday's game in Los Angeles against the Clippers for his comeback from an injury suffered before the All-Star break. He missed his fifth consecutive game Saturday but hoped to be able to get in a full-speed workout before the short trip south. The Warriors have three days off following the game against the Clippers, which would allow him even more time to recuperate.

--F Brandan Wright (shoulder) is close to returning to practice, but he remains out until at least March 1 as he recovers from a partially dislocated left shoulder suffered Jan. 7 against the Lakers.

--F Kelenna Azubuike (bruised knee) returned to the starting lineup against the Thunder after missing Wednesday's game against the Lakers. He played 19 minutes Saturday.
