Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-03-04

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-03-04
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Marco Belinelli, Shooting guard Jamal Crawford, Small forward Kelenna Azubuike, Power forward Anthony Randolph, Center Andris Biedrins. Bench -- Guard C.J. Watson, Guard Anthony Morrow, Forward Stephen Jackson, Forward Corey Maggette, Forward Jermareo Davidson, Forward Rob Kurz.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Stephen Jackson led the Warriors with 23 points in their win at Minnesota despite playing just 29 minutes. Jackson averaged 44.0 minutes per game in February. The last time he played fewer than 27 minutes was when he was pulled after 24 in a blowout loss at Utah on Jan. 5.

--F Corey Maggette had 16 points in 28 minutes after Don Nelson had earlier announced his star sixth man would get the night off as part of the club's plan to give younger players more of an opportunity. Maggette entered the game as the league leader in scoring average among backups at 19.9 per game.

--F Jermareo Davidson had the game of his Warriors life, getting 21 minutes thanks equally to Ronny Turiaf's illness and the one-sided nature of the score. The first-year Warrior, who had played a total of 17 minutes in his previous 24 games, not only scored for the first time since Jan. 25 but had seven points. He had totaled one point in the entire month of February.

--G Anthony Morrow hit all three of his three-point attempts on a 17-point night. Morrow, the league leader in three-point shooting percentage at the All-Star break, hadn't made every 3 he attempted in a game since going 1-for-1 against the Hornets on Jan. 30.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Monta Ellis (ankle) was not with the team in Minnesota as he sat out a fourth consecutive game because of recurring pain in his surgically repaired left ankle. While nothing is etched in stone, he is expected to return during the Warriors' five-day, four-game trip that tipped off Tuesday.

--F Brandan Wright (shoulder) could return to practice when the Warriors return home from their four-game trip Sunday. For the time being, he remains out as he recovers from a partially dislocated left shoulder suffered Jan. 7 against the Lakers.

--C Ronny Turiaf (sick) sat out Tuesday's game. There's a chance he could return Wednesday at Chicago.
