Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-03-16

Golden State Warriors Roster Report 2009-03-16
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Monta Ellis, Shooting guard Jamal Crawford, Small forward Stephen Jackson, Power forward Brandan Wright, Center Ronny Turiaf. Bench -- Guard C.J Watson, Guard Anthony Morrow, Forward Kelenna Azubuike, Forward Corey Maggette, Forward Anthony Randolph, Forward Rob Kurz, Center Jermareo Davidson.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Monta Ellis continued to be more of a scorer than a ball distributor as a point guard. He poured in 26 points Sunday on 12-for-19 shooting following a 29-point explosion Friday against Dallas, but had only three assists in 41 minutes, giving him just six in 85 minutes in the last two games.

--F Stephen Jackson was ejected in the third quarter after receiving his second technical foul. That was his 17th of the season, which means he will receive an automatic one-game suspension. The Warriors await the NBA's call on when that will be.

--F Corey Maggette did the majority of his scoring (12 of 21) from the free throw line, making 12 of 13. It was the 17th time this season he has attempted 10 or more fouls shots in a game, and the ninth time he's scored at least half his points in a game from the line.

--C Ronny Turiaf failed to block a shot in 24 minutes while matched up much of the time with Shaquille O'Neal. He had totaled 12 blocks in just 71 minutes in his previous three games.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Andris Biedrins (ankle) sat out Sunday's game against Phoenix and is unlikely to play Tuesday against the Clippers after spraining his left ankle early in Friday's win over Dallas. If he is able to practice Wednesday, he could return either Thursday in Los Angeles against the Lakers or back home Friday against the 76ers.

--G Marco Belinelli (toe) missed his third consecutive game with what's being called turf toe. He appears close to a return and has yet to be ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Clippers.

--F Corey Maggette (sinus infection) played 28 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Suns after missing Friday's game against Dallas because of a sinus infection.
