Warriors' advance box for Friday's game at Phoenix

Warriors' advance box for Friday's game at Phoenix Warriors AT PHOENIX

Tip: 7 p.m., US Airways Center

TV: Comcast SportsNet Bay Area

Radio: 680-AM

Records: Warriors 0-1; Suns 1-0

Suns update: The Suns are playing their home opener after beating the Los Angeles Clippers 109-107 at Staples Center on Wednesday, thanks to 24 points and eight assists from point guard Steve Nash. ... Phoenix features a small backcourt with Nash and shooting guard Leandro Barbosa. So the Warriors won't have to worry so much about the defensive mismatches created by their own backcourt of Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis. ... The Suns are expected to be a faster team without center Shaquille O'Neal in the middle. At center they have Channing Frye, who fits the Suns' up-tempo style. His outside touch also spreads the floor, so Nash and All-Star forward Amare Stoudemire have room to work. This may cause problems for the Warriors , as Frye can pull Andris Biedrins out of the paint, taking away Golden State's top rebounder.
