
The 2009-10 NBA schedule was released Tuesday and it shows the Golden State Warriors opening their season at home on Wednesday, Oct. 28 against the Yao Ming-less Houston Rockets.
Golden State is set to make eight national television appearances this season, with six games scheduled on ESPN and two appearances on TNT. The Warriors' initial nationally televised game will be ESPN's coverage of their home game against San Antonio on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at ORACLE Arena. ESPN will also feature Golden State's home games versus Washington (Friday, Dec. 18); Atlanta (Sunday, Feb. 21), Los Angeles Lakers (Monday, March 15) and New Orleans (Wednesday, March 17). The Warriors' road game against Utah on Wednesday, March 31 will also be televised by ESPN. TNT's exclusive Thursday night telecasts will also feature Golden State's home games against Denver (Feb. 25) and Portland (March 11).
Tip-off time for the majority of Golden State's home games during the 2009-10 season will be 7:30 p.m., with the exception of two Sunday contests and a special Monday matinee in January.
Highlights of the Warriors' home schedule include early-season weekend matchups against the Clippers and No. 1 overall pick Blake Griffin (Friday, Nov. 6) and the world champion Lakers (Saturday, Nov. 28). The Celtics will make their lone Oracle Arena appearance on Monday, Dec. 28.
After playing 21 of their first 34 games of the season on the road, the Warriors begin a stretch in which they'll play 18 of 24 contests at home.
